In Manendragarh-Chirmiri-Bharatpur district, the process of reservation of wards under Panchayat election reservation, District Member, District President and District Member, Panchayat Member, Urban Body and Nagar Panchayat General Election 2024 will be held on 17 and 19 December 2024. In this regard, an important meeting was organized in the Collectorate hall under the chairmanship of Collector D. Rahul Venkat. Additional Collector Anil Kumar Sidar, Deputy District Election Officer C.S. were present in the meeting. Paikra, concerned sector officer, presiding officer and RO of election operations and other officers were present.
The Collector informed that under the provisions of Chhattisgarh Municipal (Scheduled Caste, Scheduled Tribe, Backward Class and Women) Rules 1994, reservation of wards of urban bodies and Nagar Panchayats of the district will be done on 17 and 19 December. On December 17, reservation for the wards of Municipality Manendragarh, Nagar Panchayat Khongapani, Jhagrakhand and Nai Leatheri will be done in the Collectorate meeting room from 11 am. Similarly, reservation of wards of Municipal Corporation Chirmiri and Nagar Panchayat Janakpur will be done on December 19 at the scheduled time from 11 am to 3 pm.
The Collector clarified that common citizens can also be present during this process of reservation. Instructions have been given to maintain transparency during the process. He also informed that for the reservation process, category wise allocation of Mahila Lotto places will be done, which will be completed in the presence of senior officials of the district. The process related to withdrawal of nominations was also discussed in this meeting. The Collector said that the process of withdrawal of nominations will be done only by the RO and for this the original acknowledgment letter of withdrawal of nominations will be necessary. Apart from this, instructions have been given to make video and photo of the withdrawal process to keep it on record.
In this meeting, Deputy District Election Officer C.S. Paikra, Additional Collector Anil Sidar, SDM Manendragarh, SDM Khadgawan, Tehsildar Manendragarh, Tehsildar Chirmiri, Municipal Corporation Commissioner, District CEO MCB, District CEO Khadgawan and CMOs of all Nagar Panchayats including officers and employees were present.
