Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has said that the ‘Flavors of India’ program to be held at Bharat Mandapam in Delhi from December 16 is a wonderful initiative to strengthen Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s ‘Vocal for Local’ campaign. He said that this is a unique effort to bring the identity of local food, craftsmanship and textile industry rooted in the rich heritage of our country to the national and international level. It will focus on the nutritional benefits and importance of Indian native grains, especially millets – also known as ‘Anna’. This step will inspire the coming generations towards our traditional food and bring a new awareness towards health.

“Flavors of India-2024” is being organized by the Union Ministry of Food Processing in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Textiles, NITI Aayog, Sarva Rythu Seva Foundation on 16 December at Bharat Mandapam, Delhi. This is an effort towards presenting the rich cultural heritage of Indian food and traditional clothes at the national and international level.

The state government is promoting the characteristics of every district of the state in Vocal for Local.

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that the state government has taken many important steps to promote its local industries under Vocal for Local. In the food sector, local cuisine festivals have been organized to promote the specialties of every district of the state. The special dishes of Chanderi, Bhopal, and Malwa regions have been showcased at food festivals and international forums to gain national recognition.

Chief Minister called for encouraging local products and traditions

Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that in the textile industry, handicraft development schemes have been started to promote traditional textiles like Chanderi and Maheshwari. Local weavers are being trained to sell their products through digital platforms, allowing them to connect directly with their customers. We have also organized International Textile Expos with a local-to-global approach. Through events like Flavors of India, the art and hard work of local artisans, farmers and weavers helps in gaining national and global recognition. Congratulating all the organizers for this effort, Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that this initiative will help in taking the Indian food and textile industry to a new height and will provide a strong direction to Vocal for Local.
