Bhopal
Under the Pradhan Mantri Tribal Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan (PM Jan-Mana) by the Central Government, permanent houses are being prepared for all the eligible families of the three Special Backward Tribal Groups (PVTG) of the state. To achieve the goal of providing ‘pucca house to all’, a large number of PVTG families were surveyed in 24 districts of the state dominated by PVTG population. A total of 1 lakh 87 thousand 138 PM houses have been sanctioned by the Central Government in two phases to provide permanent houses to all the identified/eligible families.

In the ‘first phase’, 1 lakh 54 thousand PM houses were sanctioned by the Union Ministry of Rural Development. In these approved houses, it was decided to complete the construction work of 1 lakh 44 thousand 200 pucca houses in the financial years 2023-24 and 2024-25. A target has been set to complete the construction work of these pucca houses, to be built at a cost of about Rs 288 crore 400 lakh, by December 2024. Against the target, till now more than 36 thousand 720 pucca houses have been constructed and supplied to the concerned PVTG beneficiaries. For the construction of these permanent houses, the PM Awas amount was transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries in a phased manner by the Central Government. The construction amount has been transferred to the bank accounts of 1 lakh 4 thousand 242 beneficiaries in the first installment, 80 thousand 866 beneficiaries in the second installment and 56 thousand 198 beneficiaries in the third installment.

In the ‘second phase’ of this mega campaign, 33 thousand 138 additional houses have been sanctioned to the state by the Union Ministry of Rural Development. This special approval has been given by the Central Ministry to provide permanent houses to the remaining PVTG families living in 21 districts of the state. Recently by the Central Ministry, Sheopur district 7561, Shivpuri 5154, Umaria 4092, Shahdol 2591, Ashoknagar 2294, Guna 2084, Singrauli 1895, Dindori 1532, Anuppur 1522, Sidhi 1042, Mandla 903, Morena 695, Vidisha. 448, Balaghat 401, Gwalior 266, Chhindwara 202, Narsinghpur 158, Seoni 117, Datia 110, Jabalpur 42 and Raisen districts have been sanctioned 29 PM (permanent) houses.

Thus, Madhya Pradesh has so far received approval for 1 lakh 87 thousand 138 PM houses in two phases. These permanent houses of PVTG families are being prepared as per the action plan by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department of the state as per the instructions of the Central Rural Development Ministry. The work of electrification of these newly constructed pucca houses is being done in a phased manner by the State Energy Department under the technical guidance of the Central Power Ministry as per the action plan. Construction of link/access roads to all PVTG dominated villages is also being done step-by-step by the Union Ministry of Rural Development.
