Jaipur/Jhalawar.
A new history was created in the field of organ donation in Rajasthan when the organs of a brain dead youth were transported to the transplant center via helicopter. This incident became a lifeline for those patients who were waiting for organ transplant for years. Vishnu (33), a resident of Pipaji in Jhalawar district, suffered serious injuries following a fight on December 10, following which he was declared brain dead.
Vishnu’s family took a bold step and agreed for organ donation on 13 December. After this, the organs were transported through special helicopters to the needy patients in Jaipur and Jodhpur. At around 11:30 am on Sunday morning, the helicopter took off from Jhalawar carrying the organ and after some time landed at SMS Medical College, Jaipur. The organ was kept in two special boxes, one of which was sent to Jaipur and the other to Jodhpur.

Experts’ opinion:
According to doctors at SMS Medical College, “The use of helicopters is a revolutionary step to safely transport organs to the transplant center on time. This improves the success rate of transplant and recovery of patients.” This flight of life from Jhalawar to Jaipur and Jodhpur showed that the impossible can be made possible with the right decision at the right time. This great step by Vishnu’s family will inspire other families to donate organs in the times to come.
