Chhattisgarh’s IPS GP Singh reinstated in service, Home Ministry issued order

Raipur

The Union Home Ministry has issued an order on December 12 and reinstated IPS GP Singh in service. The Home Ministry has issued the order in view of the order passed by the Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT). Rejecting the suspension order passed on July 20, 2023, he has been reinstated in the post from the same date.

Let us tell you that IPS Gurjinder Pal Singh (GP Singh) of Chhattisgarh cadre of batch 1994 was retired under the order of Home Ministry on July 20, 2023. Its IPS challenged in CAT.

CAT canceled the order of Home Ministry dated April 10, 2024 and directed to reinstate him in service and give all benefits. The Home Ministry challenged the CAT order in the Delhi High Court, but the High Court rejected the petition on 23 August.

After this, the Home Ministry filed a Special Leave Petition (SLP) in the Supreme Court, which was also rejected by the Supreme Court on 10 December 2024.

Keeping in mind the decision of the Supreme Court and other legal opinions, the Home Ministry has now ordered the reinstatement of GP Singh in service. Also, to ensure appropriate action, a copy of the order has been sent to the Chief Secretary of Chhattisgarh.
