Former General G.D. Bakshi, who reached Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh, has targeted those doing caste politics in the country. He said that it is a matter of great regret that even after 75 years of independence, caste politics is happening in the country. GD Bakshi advocated reservation on economic basis instead of caste based reservation. Bakshi said that if everyone is divided into castes then who will remain Indian? He also made a scathing attack on Pakistan and said that now the time has come that Pakistan should be divided into four pieces.
At the same time, regarding the attacks on Hindu temples in Bangladesh, G.D. Bakshi said that Bangladesh should be captured and declared a Hindu country. He said that now the time has come for conflict with Bangladesh. Bakshi also expressed his displeasure over the statement calling Hindutva a disease. While targeting former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti without naming her, Bakshi has described Mehbooba Mufti as a living example of a snake in the sleeve.
Need to think again on Agniveer- Bakshi
At the same time, General Bakshi has also raised questions on the Agniveer recruitment scheme. He said that Agniveer was a hasty decision. General Bakshi said that neither a soldier gets ready for the country in 4 years nor does any bonding develop in him towards the country and the army in 4 years. Bakshi said that fighting for the country and dedication to the army requires a long tenure. Therefore, there is a need to re-think about the Agniveer scheme.
