The training camp of the Indian team for the Kho Kho World Cup to be hosted by India next month will begin from Tuesday, December 10 at the prestigious Jawahar Lal Nehru Stadium in New Delhi. In the camp, 60 girls and 60 boys selected from across the country will be provided intensive training to develop team spirit, enhance skills, mental strength, discipline and team bonding. In this camp, experienced and new young talented players will be taught the nuances of Kho Kho game like pole diving, tapping, zig zag running, dodging tapping etc. by sports experts.

Indian Kho Kho Federation President Sudhanshu Mittal said here today that a training camp is being organized to improve the preparations of the national team before the Kho Kho World Cup and on the basis of the performance of this training camp, teams will be given the opportunity to participate in the Kho Kho World Cup. A national team of 15 boys and 15 girls will be selected to represent India in the World Cup. This is the beginning of their final preparations for the Kho Kho World Cup to be held at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium in New Delhi from January 13 to 19, 2025.

This fitness and training camp will run for a month under the supervision of Indian national team head coach Ashwini Sharma. In this, the focus will be on the agility and technique of the players. In this training camp, sixty talented players from both men’s and women’s categories, experienced and new from across the country will participate in the training camp. Where players will learn the techniques of lightning-fast reflexes, precise movements and effortless coordination.

This camp will provide an opportunity to the players to learn how to win matches by working together as a team. He informed that the final teams for the World Cup will be selected on the basis of their performance during the training camp. Around 16 coaches and support staff will assist the players in preparing for this important event. The training camp will focus on enhancing fitness levels with special training in coordination, sports drills, technique, chasing skills like pole diving and tapping, running skills like dodging and zig zag running etc.

As for mental health resources, KKFI has also appointed a sports psychologist to support the players. He will help the players face challenges, handle pressure and deal with mental fatigue. He said that renowned experts from various disciplines like Yoga, Meditation, Dietician and Physiology focus on various subjects during the training camps to create team spirit, cooperation and mutual understanding to optimize the performance, mental toughness and health of the players. do.

Sudhanshu Mittal said that all necessary medical tests will be conducted for the physical condition of the players during the two days before the formal start of the training camp. The accommodation and boarding arrangements for the players will be made at the Jawahar Lal Nehru Sai Hostel which is 100 meters away from the training camp site. All players will be provided free accommodation facility and sports kit worth Rs 20,000/-(twenty thousand rupees). Special arrangements have been made for the nutrition of the players and they will be provided diet, dry fruits, juices, vegetarian and non-vegetarian food in the training camp.
