A nature camp was organized at Van Vihar National Park, Bhopal with the help of Madhya Pradesh Eco Tourism Development Board with a view to develop awareness among students about forests, wild animals and environment and sensitivity towards nature conservation. Bird watching and nature camps are being organized for government school students of Bhopal city and its surrounding villages.
41 students and 2 teachers of Government Higher Secondary School (CM Rise School), Barkheda, Bhopal participated in the Nature Camp. The participants were given interesting activities related to bird watching, butterfly watching, wild animal watching, forestry and environment by subject experts. By providing information to the students, their curiosities were quenched.
School students were made to observe wild animals like tiger, leopard, bear, crocodile, gharial, chital, sambar, nilgai etc. A trail walk was also conducted. Kingfisher, Open Bill Stork, Vulnic Stork, Cormorant, Jacana and Coot were observed. Artificial nests and effigies of birds were also shown in Needam area. On this occasion, an oath was administered to the participants present under Mission Life to save the environment.
Under the Anubhuti programme, new motivators were given training by master trainers. Master trainer Dr. S.R. selected for Anubhuti program in training. Waghmare trained 9 employees of Van Vihar National Park as new motivators. During the Nature Camp, Director Van Vihar Mr. Meena Awadhesh Kumar Shivkumar, Assistant Director Mr. S.K. Sinha, unit in-charge tourism Mr. Ravikant Jain and officers and employees were present.
