Under the leadership of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, special attention is being paid to health facilities in the state. The journey of progress and good governance in the state is continuously visible in the form of expansion in health facilities. Under the guidance of Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal, the Health Department has laid special emphasis on the development of new facilities. In this direction, Late. Sant Baba Guru Ghasidas Ji Smriti Government Hospital, Raigarh, affiliated to Lakhiram Aggarwal Memorial Government Medical College, Raigarh, is continuously committed to enhancing its facilities and providing better treatment to the patients.
In this series, a successful operation was carried out for the complex and rare fracture of Karan Singh Korwa, a member of the special tribe Pahari Korwa, admitted in the Orthopedics Department. Karan Singh Korwa fell from a motorcycle while going to his village Sian in Korba district. Due to this he suffered a deep injury in his knee. Seeing his condition, he was admitted to the Medical College Hospital, Raigarh. A piece of bone below his knee (tibia condyle) broke from the joint and got stuck between the blood vessels and nerves at the back. It is extremely rare for such a case to come to light.
Due to this, there is a constant risk of paralysis or amputation of the legs due to injury to the blood vessels and nerves. Even during the operation, there is a risk of numbness in the legs due to injury to the blood vessels or nerves. This complex operation was successfully performed by the doctors of the Orthopedics Department of Medical College, Raigarh. Due to this, currently the patient is able to bend his knee and the patient’s leg has also been saved. Within a few days the patient can start walking with the help of a walker. In this way Medical College Raigarh is moving towards progress with another achievement.
It is noteworthy that on the initiative of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, Health Minister Shyam Bihari Jaiswal has provided financial freedom to the government medical colleges of the state for works worth up to Rs 2 crore to financially empower them. With this, there is no need to take approval at the state level for quick treatment of patients, instead the autonomous society of the medical college can take decisions on its own.
