Farmer Gulab Singh told Krishak Unnati Yojana as a medium of economic progress.

Raipur,

For us farmers who are struggling with the means of irrigation, the sky and the government are God. If the rain is good then the crop is also good and only if there is a good crop and the government fixes a good price, we can get the full value of our hard work. We have to go to the fields and work hard. We have to sweat, only then we are able to harvest the crops and after separating the grains, we are able to sell these crops. Our happiness doubles when our expectations are fulfilled. Vishnu Dev government of Chhattisgarh, understanding the value of the hard work of us farmers, has made good arrangements to buy paddy at support price, due to which we farmers are happy.

These expectations are being formed since the time the farmer plows the field and keeps hoping to be free from the debt he has, he keeps dreaming of selling the crop and bringing some new items for the house. This hope, this dream is fulfilled in the form of happiness only when the money comes into the account after the crop is grown well and it can be sold safely… This is what Gulab Singh, a farmer of about seventy years, says. Gulab Singh, who was busy in minjai after bringing the paddy crop from the field, said that the farmers have to keep their hopes from the sky and the government only, this time also the expectations from both are being fulfilled, it is a matter of great happiness.

Gulab Singh told that he knows that last year also when he had sold the paddy grown in his field, apart from the amount of support price, the difference amount was deposited in his account in lump sum. He got the profit of paddy at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. Apart from this, he also received the outstanding bonus amount of two years. Gulab Singh is happy that this time too he will get full benefit of his hard work and his expectations will be fulfilled.

Gulab Singh, a farmer of remote village Thadpakhana under Korba development block, said that he has about 6-7 acres of land on which he grows paddy crop. Farmer Gulab Singh, who was currently busy threshing paddy, said that last year also there was good rainfall. This year also the rains did not betray him and he got the crop as per expectations. Elderly farmer Gulab Singh said that there is no means of irrigation in his area. Being a hilly area, everyone has to depend on the sky. This year the rains have been good and the crop has also grown well, so there is no problem. He told that earlier he had sold his paddy in Lemru, the system of selling paddy has changed a lot and has become more convenient than before. Earlier one had to face a lot of trouble in selling paddy.

He told that along with getting the support price of paddy, additional amount is given by the Chhattisgarh government. This amount is very useful for us farmers. We are happy that we farmers get a price of Rs 3100 per quintal of paddy, which is the highest price compared to other states. Farmer Gulab Singh said that Chief Minister Shri Vishnudev Sai is from a farmer family, hence he understands the problems of the farmers. He said that the steps taken towards agricultural progress are providing relief to the farmers and the farmers are also happy. Gulab Singh told that soon after the completion of minjai work, he will sell his paddy in the procurement centre, he has also got himself registered.
