Chief Minister started the campaign by giving pulse polio medicine to children

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that awareness about pulse polio is the first step of prevention. India is one of the polio free countries but to remain polio free one must use two drops of polio vaccine. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav was addressing the inauguration of the state level campaign of Pulse Polio at Samatva Bhawan located at the Chief Minister’s residence. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav administered medicine to twin sisters Arnika and Anaya Rai, Kanishka, Niyati, Arth and Samarth, children below 5 years of age. On this occasion, Minister of State for Public Health and Medical Education Shri Narendra Shivaji Patel, Principal Secretary Public Health Shri Sandeep Yadav, W.H.O. Dignitaries including representatives of were present.

Target to administer medicine to 38 lakh children
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that a 3-day pulse polio campaign will be organized from December 8 to December 10. The target is to administer medicine to 38 lakh children during this period. He said that Pulse Polio campaign is meaningful only when no child is deprived of medicine. Mobile teams will accomplish their goal by going door-to-door and street-to-street to administer polio drops from the highest residential areas to brick kilns, crushers, construction sites, nomadic populations and slums. He called upon the people to prove to be alert parents and give free pulse polio vaccine to their children up to 5 years of age.

Two drops every time, victory over polio continues
This campaign is being run in 16 districts of the state in the spirit of two drops every time, victory over polio remains intact. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that for continuous world class development in health facilities, Prime Minister Shri Modi and Union Health Minister Shri J.P. Polio is incurable, prevention is necessary
Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that polio is an incurable disease, which is the main cause of disability in children. To ensure “double protection” to children, it is necessary to give two drops of Jeevan dose every time. Pulse Polio campaign was started in the year 1995, the objective of which is to keep India continuously polio free. But positive cases of polio have been reported in some border countries. In view of these, we will have to fight seriously against polio. We have conducted pulse polio campaigns in a planned manner by identifying the more sensitive areas. He said that additional phase of the campaign has been organized in Bhind, Bhopal, Chhindwara, Datia, Gwalior, Indore, Katni, Khargone, Mandsaur, Narsinghpur, Neemuch, Niwari, Satna, Sheopur, Tikamgarh and Vidisha.
