Taking serious note of the incident of intimidation by businessmen during official work, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai has directed the State Tax Inspectors to take strict action against it.
It is noteworthy that the State Tax GST Department is carrying out physical verification of such firms on the basis of risk parameters to identify bogus firms and suspicious firms. On the instructions of the department, after the inspectors received a complaint of irregularities against M/s Yogesh Commercial, Mahesh Colony, Gudhiyari based Raipur and M/s Jagannath Construction, Rahul Sharma of Daldal Seoni, State Tax Inspector Smt. Ritu Sonkar and It was directed by Homesh Verma. In compliance with the order, the tax inspector had gone to do physical verification, but the two businessmen misbehaved with the inspectors and threatened them, which caused disruption in the official work of physical verification of the business. This act of the businessmen was taken seriously by Chief Minister Sai.
Under the direction of Chief Minister Sai, the department investigated the transactions of the businessmen and today took investigation and seizure action on the establishments of both the firms for tax evasion and non-compliance of the provisions of the GST Act. The department took action to lodge an FIR in the police station against the said persons for obstructing government work and threatening the officers.
