When the issue of farmers gathered at the Shambhu border was raised in the Rajya Sabha, the Chairman said that Shivraj Singh Chouhan is the darling of the country and I have full confidence that he will become the darling of the farmers too. Will work as per your name.
Responding to the Congress’ stand, the Chairman said that I would have been happy if Jairam Ramesh had brought an adjournment motion and discussed the farmers’ issue.
Let me tell you that the Minister (Shivraj Singh Chouhan) was with me while coming and going and I am sure that the person who was known as ‘Laadla’ in the country, will be the ‘Laadla’ of the farmers too. I had hoped that Jairam Ramesh would ask questions and would have liked that an adjournment motion would also come on the farmers’ issue, but it did not come. – Jagdeep Dhankhar, Rajya Sabha Chairman

Farmers’ struggle to march to Delhi
Meanwhile, farmers from Punjab have gathered at the Haryana-Delhi border. Farmers have not been allowed to move beyond the Shambhu border. The police have blocked the entire route. After this, farmer organizations say that they want to go to Delhi on foot. This should be allowed.
The situation remains tense at Shambhu border. Tear gas shells have been released to stop the farmers. Internet is closed in many villages of Ambala.
