The state government is ready to provide health facilities to the Bhopal gas victims and their children. Till December 5, 20 thousand 199 Ayushman cards have been made for gas victims under Ayushman Bharat ‘Niramayam’ Madhya Pradesh scheme.

6 hospitals and 9 dispensaries are also being operated under the Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Department for the gas victims and their children, where all types of tests, treatment and necessary facilities are available free of cost. Besides, under Ayushman Yojana, medical facilities are being provided to gas victims as per requirement in all the hospitals contracted with Bhopal Gas Relief Department.

Special treatment for serious diseases

Special arrangements have also been made for the treatment of patients suffering from serious diseases like kidney, liver transplant and cancer. The department has signed a contract with AIIMS Bhopal and 3 private hospitals for cancer treatment. Apart from this, a dialysis unit has been established in Kamala Nehru Hospital, where free treatment is being given to the suffering patients through 13 dialysis machines.

State-of-the-art emergency services also continue

24×7 emergency units are being operated in all the hospitals of Bhopal Gas Relief Department. In these units, immediate and advanced medical services and facilities are being provided to the gas victims and their children.

Special relief is being given to gas affected widows (Kalyanis) by the state government. In addition to the social security pension, they are being given a monthly pension of Rs 1,000. At present 4 thousand 406 widows are being given pension benefits. The state government is committed to the health and social welfare of the Bhopal gas victims. The main aim of the government is to bring rapid improvement in the standard of living of the gas victims through speedy implementation of welfare schemes and expansion of medical facilities.
