On the other hand, perhaps the sensitivity of the Block Education Officer of Bakavand has died down. Even after weeks passed, he did not even feel the need to take care of the victim student.
The matter pertains to the government primary school of Gram Panchayat Muli of Bakavand development block. One week, 12-year-old Gupteshwar Kashyap, a class seven student, broke his right thigh after the school gate broke and fell on him. The student remained lying there groaning in pain for an hour after the accident. After that the mother picked up the student and took him home. The child was taken to Maharani Hospital Jagdalpur, where X-ray confirmed the fracture.
After first aid, the child was taken back home by his poor parents. Now the child is being treated at home. The student’s father Haldar Kashyap told that his son’s thigh bone was broken while closing the gate after dismissal at 4 o’clock, currently he is being treated with local herbs at home, we are poor people and cannot afford the hospital.
School Principal Pathak Premnath Baghel said that the student was closing the gate after school when the gate broke and fell on his right thigh. Then he was taken to Maharani Hospital for treatment. In primary school, children are dismissed at three o’clock and school closes at five o’clock.
BRC Sonsingh Baghel told that he had given Rs 500 to the student’s family and kept visiting the hospital for two days to inquire about the student’s well-being. Assistant teacher Krishna Kumar said that both I and the head teacher were present at the time of the incident. The incident is sad.
