Madhya Pradesh’s budget for the financial year 2025-26 may exceed Rs 4 lakh crore. There will be a provision of huge amount for women and child development, cheap electricity, and infrastructure development. Departments have been given interim budget limits and the process of preparing proposals is underway.
The budget of Madhya Pradesh for the financial year 2025-26 may be more than Rs 4 lakh crore. In this, the Women and Child Development Department will get approximately Rs 27 thousand crores. With this, there will be provision for schemes like Ladli Brahmin Yojana and providing LPG cylinder for Rs 450.
About Rs 18 thousand crores are being spent annually on Ladli Brahmin Yojana. Similarly, a provision of more than Rs 25 thousand crore will be kept in the budget of various departments for grants given to provide electricity at affordable rates. To fulfill the priority of accelerating infrastructure development works, capital expenditure will be more than Rs 70 thousand crore.
Tanvi Sundriyal, Director (Budget), Finance Department, has given interim limit of budget to all the departments so that they can prepare proposals accordingly. Let us tell you, the budget for the year 2024-25 is more than Rs 3 lakh 65 thousand crores.
Supplementary budget of Rs 10 thousand crore
The first supplementary budget will be presented in the winter session of the Assembly starting from December 16, which may be more than Rs 10 thousand crore. Along with this, the departments have also started preparations for the budget for the financial year 2025-26. The Finance Department has also told all the departments the estimated amount to be given to them for preparing the proposal so that they prepare the proposal accordingly.
Review of all schemes
This time the process of zero budget has been adopted i.e. each and every scheme is being reviewed. In this, along with asking about their usefulness, details of their achievements so far are also being sought. Meetings of Deputy Secretary level officers are going on to consider the proposals. After this, Secretary and then Minister level meetings will be held and the proposals will be presented before the Chief Minister for finalization.
There will be Rs 19,203 crore on rural development and Rs 17,236 crore on urban development.
Expenditure sources say that Rs 19 thousand 203 crore has been proposed for the Panchayat and Rural Development Department. In this, provision will be made for Prime Minister’s residence and other schemes.
Rs 17 thousand 236 crore for urban development, Rs 11 thousand 383 crore for providing drinking water facility to every household, Rs 39 thousand 109 for school education, Rs 11 thousand 58 for public works,
An interim budget limit of Rs 16 thousand 767 crore has been given for health, Rs 19 thousand 883 for agricultural development, Rs 13 thousand 560 for housing and Rs 14 thousand 769 crore for tribal development. It includes capital as well as revenue expenditure. Along with the salary and allowances of the employees, the amount of payment to be made to the pensioners will also be included in this amount.
Dearness allowance will be kept at 64 percent
Even though dearness allowance is being given at the rate of 50 percent to the employees of the state, it will increase to 64 percent in the coming financial year. Accordingly, all departments will have to make provision for establishment expenses. Similarly, there will be a provision for four percent annual increase in the remuneration of contractual employees.
