During investigation, police seized 22 quintals of paddy being brought in a pickup from Madhya Pradesh. It has been handed over to the Food Department.

In Chhattisgarh, the government is purchasing paddy from farmers at support price. For this, procurement centers have been created in the district. Police and administration teams are keeping an eye. To stop transportation of illegal paddy, a team of Revenue, Police and Food Department has been formed by the district administration. In this connection, sub-inspector RS Sengar, in-charge of Marwahi police station, was patrolling with the team last night. 22 quintals of paddy was caught in pickup MP 65 GA 1282 from Madhya Pradesh. Police have handed it over to the Food Department for further action.

As per the wish of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai, micro ATMs have been made available in all the committees of the district, where farmers can easily withdraw up to Rs 10,000 from their accounts. Farmers do not need to go to any bank or ATM machine for cash. Santosh Singh Thakur, Nodal Officer of District Cooperative Bank, said that so far Rs 4 lakh 30 thousand five hundred have been paid to 150 farmers in the district through micro ATM. He told that the amount is paid to the farmers through their ATM cards at the procurement center itself.

Nathusingh Rajput, a farmer of village Rohrakhurd, said that the farmers are getting a lot of benefits due to the introduction of micro ATM facility in the committees by the government. Similarly, the farmers of Khaprikala of Lormi development block said that they did not need to borrow money from any businessman to pay tractor hire and labor charges, the cash amount was paid from the procurement center itself. This is a very convenient arrangement for us farmers. The farmers of the district have expressed their gratitude to the government and administration for providing the facility of micro ATM in the committees.
