Chief Minister thanked Prime Minister Modi and the Union Cabinet for the approval given to three multi-tracking projects of Railways.

Railway Ministry approves 3 multitracking projects worth Rs 7,927 crore

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav has expressed his gratitude to Prime Minister Modi and the Union Cabinet for approving 3 multi-tracking projects of the Railway Ministry worth Rs 7,927 crore by the Union Cabinet under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Chief Minister Dr. Yadav said that under the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Modi, due to the increasing network of railways in the state, the state is progressing rapidly on the path of development, and transportation for the people of the state has also become easier at a fast pace. The people of the state are grateful to Prime Minister Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnav for the new gifts the state is receiving every day. He said that the expansion of the railway line will encourage religious, cultural and eco tourism. This initiative will ensure better accessibility to various attractions in the state like Omkareshwar Jyotirling (Khandwa), Khajuraho UNESCO World Heritage Site, Asirgarh Fort and Rewa Fort, thereby providing convenience to devotees and tourists.

7 districts of Maharashtra and Uttar Pradesh including Madhya Pradesh will be covered

It is noteworthy that the Union Cabinet approved 3 projects of the Railway Ministry, whose cost is Rs 7 thousand 927 crore. These include Jalgaon-Manmad 4th line (160 km), Bhusaval-Khandwa 3rd and 4th line (131 km) and Prayagraj (Iradatganj) Manikpur 3rd line (84 km). These projects will cover 7 districts of 3 states i.e. Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh. This will increase the existing network of Indian Railways by approximately 639 kilometers. Direct employment will be generated for approximately one lakh man-days during the construction period. This will ensure seamless connectivity for coal transportation and passenger trains and will also help in reducing the travel time of goods trains.

Pilgrims and nature lovers will get benefits

The sanctioned project will enhance connectivity in 2 aspirational districts namely Khandwa and Chitrakoot, serving approximately one thousand 319 villages and approximately 38 lakh population. It will enhance connectivity by enabling operation of additional passenger trains on the Mumbai-Prayagraj-Varanasi route. Pilgrims visiting religious places like Prayagraj, Chitrakoot, Gaya and Shirdi along with Jyotirlinga of Nashik (Trimbakeshwar) and Varanasi (Kashi Vishwanath) will benefit. Nature lovers and history buffs will also be facilitated and tourism will get a boost through better accessibility to various attractions like Ajanta and Ellora Caves UNESCO World Heritage Site, Devagiri Fort, Yawal Wildlife Sanctuary, Keoti Falls and Purva Falls etc.
