The winter session of Parliament is starting from today. In this, the opposition party is preparing to put pressure on the government to discuss the allegations of bribery against Adani Group. Meanwhile, shares of Adani Group are showing a rise in early trading today. The group’s shares have jumped up to 7% on BSE. Shares of the group’s flagship company Adani Enterprises rose 4% to Rs 2,319.90. Similarly, shares of Adani Energy rose by almost 7% to reach a high of Rs 694.15. Shares of Adani Ports and Adani Power also rose by 4.6%, Adani Green Energy by 6.4% and Adani Total Gas by 5%.
Similarly, shares of other companies like Adani Wilmar, ACC and Ambuja Cements rose between 2-3%. Congress MPs accused Adani Group of bribery. Congress Rajya Sabha MP Pramod Tiwari said that his party wants the Adani issue to be raised first in the Parliament meeting on Monday. He said that this is a serious issue related to the economic and security interests of the country. The company is accused of allegedly paying over Rs 2,300 crore to politicians and bureaucrats to get favorable deals for its solar power projects.

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kiren Rijiju said the decision to discuss the issue depends on the Business Advisory Committees and requires the approval of the Speaker of the Lok Sabha and the Chairman of the Rajya Sabha. Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani and others have been accused of bribery by US prosecutors. Legal experts say that Adani has a solid basis to challenge it.
