Our Constitution-Our Self-Respect Public Awareness Campaign will run throughout the year

The Constitution of the country, prepared after the independence of the country on 15 August 1947, was adopted on 26 November 1949. After this, the Constitution was implemented in the country on 26 January 1950. On completion of 75 years of the adoption of the Constitution, it has been decided to run a year-long “Our Constitution – Our Self-Respect” campaign from 26 November 2024 to create public awareness about the Constitution. In this regard, the Parliamentary Affairs Department has issued instructions to all the department heads, divisional commissioners and collectors of the government.

During the campaign, the general public will be mainly given information on points like the Preamble of the Constitution, making of the Constitution and being proud of the Constitution of the country. During this period, programs focused on the Constitution will also be organized among the public. The website constitution75.com has also been created to bring the year’s activities on a digital platform. Photos and videos of activities can be uploaded to the website. To involve youth and school children more in this campaign, pictures of essay, quiz and poster competition on the subject of Constitution can be shared on another website: https://www.mygov.in.

Foundation Day event
The main program will be organized on 26 November 2024, the foundation day of the Constitution. In these programs, public representatives will read the Preamble of the Constitution among the citizens. On the same day, the Constitution Preamble will also be read collectively in Gram Panchayats across the state. Baba Saheb Dr. B.R. to Gram Panchayats. It has also been asked to organize Constitution Swabhiman Yatras through MyBharat Swayamsevaks to publicize the contribution of Ambedkar. These trips should take place especially in the Scheduled Caste-Scheduled Tribe population. During the yatra, floral tributes will be offered to the statues of Baba Saheb. The fundamental duties of the citizens under Article 51(A) of the Constitution will be read out in the Gram Sabhas.
