Governor Mangubhai Patel has said that the results of individual and community planning should be evaluated at the field level. The reach of development plans to the deprived and left out individuals and areas should be considered a measure of success. He said that through the implementation of the schemes, efforts should be made to reach every eligible person. This should also be the aim of monitoring.
Governor Patel was addressing the meeting organized by the Tribal Cell today. The meeting was organized in two sessions. In the first session, Public Health and Family Welfare Department and AYUSH Department were reviewed. Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla and AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar were present on this occasion. In the second session, the schemes of Tribal Affairs Department were discussed.
Give priority to youth in distribution of genetic cards – Governor
During the review of the Health Department, Governor Mangubhai Patel directed that during the screening, the work of screening the identified areas with high number of sickle cell affected people and the age group of 20 to 30 years should be expanded. The investigation work should be done at a fast pace. Pregnant women should be examined before delivery and within 72 hours of delivery. An action plan should be prepared by the department in this regard. Genetic cards should be available with priority to identified carriers and patients. Appropriate medicine should be immediately available to the patient and the carrier. The carrier and the patient should take the medicine regularly. Its monitoring is very important. Community awareness efforts are necessary for monitoring. It is important to establish direct contact and communication in this regard by going door-to-door. He has sensitized the field staff and given instructions for public awareness efforts through them.
There should be a comparative test of various methods of AYUSH in eradicating sickle cell.
During the discussion on the AYUSH department, Governor Patel said that a comparative analysis of the research being done by the department regarding the role of homeopathy, Ayurveda and yoga in the management and treatment of sickle cell disease should also be conducted. Carriers and patients of all tehsils of pilot districts should be included in the study. This should be ensured. He said that the possibilities of Ayurveda are very strong in generalizing the Prime Minister’s efforts to eradicate sickle cell by 2047. Special efforts should be made in this direction.
Pre-natal check-up efforts should also be expanded – Deputy Chief Minister Shukla
Deputy Chief Minister Rajendra Shukla said that the Transfusion Department of the Medical College, Indore has been declared a Center of Competence by the Central Government. He said that along with providing genetic cards to sickle cell affected people, efforts for pre-natal screening will also be made. Comprehensiveness will be given.
Doctors will give information regarding sickle cell in colleges – AYUSH Minister
AYUSH Minister Inder Singh Parmar said that the Higher Education Department plans to expand the efforts for sickle cell awareness by coordinating with the Medical Department. He said that efforts will be made to spread awareness through students by setting a period for giving information about sickle cell by doctors in all the colleges.
The foundation of development is everyone’s support and development – Governor
In the second session of the meeting, Governor Mangubhai Patel said that the foundation of developed India is everyone’s support and everyone’s development. Government schemes have been created for this. The success of the planning intention depends on the vision and direction of implementation. He said that government employees are the drivers of the government. The more alert and active the staff will be. The government will also be equally dynamic. Therefore, it is necessary that the staff from the top to the grassroots level is sensitive to the intentions of the scheme. The monitoring system should focus on identifying missing persons and areas on the ground. Efforts should focus on necessary provisions, amendments and innovations to benefit such areas, communities and individuals. Governor Mangubhai Patel, while discussing the various schemes of the Tribal Affairs Department, Pradhan Mantri Tribal Tribal Justice Maha Abhiyan (PM Janman) and departmental schemes, said that new districts should be included in the PVTG districts by the department. The department should prepare a proposal after studying the provisions of Maharashtra State to provide additional funds for PESA Gram Sabhas. PhD scholarship and subject quota for tribal beneficiaries should also be abolished.
Chairman Tribal Cell Deepak Khandekar, Principal Secretary to the Governor Mukesh Chand Gupta, members of the cell and other officials were present in the meetings. In the first session, Principal Secretary AYUSH D.P. Ahuja, Principal Secretary Health Sandeep Yadav, AYUSH Commissioner Mrs. Uma Maheshwari, Managing Director National Health Mission Dr. Saloni Sidana and other senior officers were present. Principal Secretary Tribal Affairs Gulshan Bamra, Commissioner Tribal Shriman Shukla and other departmental officers were present in the second session.
