These days farmers are in trouble in Chhattisgarh. Farmers of the state have earned Rs 502 crore 53 lakh in just 6 days. This income has been earned from selling paddy to farmers. A mega campaign for purchasing paddy is going on in government societies from 14th November in the state. Under this campaign, 68 thousand 668 farmers have sold 3.09 lakh metric tonnes of paddy. In return for this, more than Rs 500 crore has been paid to them in 6 days. This process of purchasing paddy will continue for about 70 more days.
The figure crossed 3 lakh tonnes
Information received from Chhattisgarh Government’s Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Dayaldas Baghel said that from November 14 to November 19, the figure of paddy procurement at support price in the state has crossed 3 lakh tonnes.
Minister Baghel said that paddy procurement is the top priority of the government. With full commitment, the state government is purchasing paddy at support price from registered farmers of the state in 2 thousand 739 procurement centres. It is estimated that 160 lakh tonnes of paddy will be procured in the current marketing year.
The campaign will run till January 31
Let us tell you that till the 6th day of the paddy procurement festival which started from Dev-Diwali on 14th November, 3.09 lakh metric tonnes of paddy has been purchased. This mega campaign of paddy procurement will continue till 31 January 2025. The Food Minister said that today 93 thousand 581 metric tons of paddy has been purchased from 20,296 farmers in various districts of the state. This year, 27.68 lakh farmers have been registered to sell paddy in the state, which includes 1.42 lakh new farmers. A total of 23791 tokens were issued for November 19. 19934 tokens have been issued for the coming day. To monitor the paddy procurement system, a team of state level senior officers has been formed for different districts, who are continuously monitoring it.
