Naxal affected families and surrendered Naxalites will get homes, Chhattisgarh government will build 15,000 houses

The state government has planned to build 15,000 houses for the rehabilitation of former Naxalites and Naxal-affected families. This proposal has received approval from the Ministry of Rural Development. Everyone will be given the option of housing (two-BHK) under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana at the place of their choice. The Center has directed the government to submit details of eligible beneficiaries and proposals for constructing houses by December 5, 2024.

As of March 2024, about eight thousand families have become victims of Naxal violence. Since 2019 till now, 1290 Naxalites have surrendered. Of these, 733 are from this year. At present, the Panchayat and Rural Development Department has started a fresh survey of the families who were victims of Naxal violence in Naxal affected districts. The Naxalites who surrender in future will also get the benefit of this scheme.

Home Minister had asked for suggestions and got such feedback

In May 2024, the state’s Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma had sought suggestions for the rehabilitation policy of surrendered Naxalites by releasing online QR code, Google form and mail ID niudnellabastar @ gmail.com. Some Naxalites had demanded accommodation facilities at a safe place in exchange for surrender. After this, a special plan has been made to provide accommodation to both surrendered and Naxal victims.

Home Minister Vijay Sharma said that the Central Government has given approval to build houses for this special scheme. This scheme will prove to be a boon for the end of Naxalism. The youth who have deviated from the wrong path and are with the Naxalites will return to the mainstream.

On the instructions of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai, a continuous campaign against Naxalites is going on. It is noteworthy that during the 11 months of Vishnu Dev Sai government, as part of the ongoing campaign against Naxalites, the soldiers have killed 197 Naxalites, which is the highest figure in a year in the history so far.

In inaccessible places, roads will be built first and then houses.

As soon as he got the approval for accommodation, he visited Bastar. She has also visited the inaccessible areas of Abujhmad and is searching for space to build roads and housing in these areas. Director of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana and Commissioner of Mahatma Gandhi NREGA Scheme Rajat Bansal and Deputy Commissioner Ashok Choubey were also present with him. The team took information about the facilities from the people in Irakbhatti, Maspur, Sonpur, Dhondribeda and other villages of Narayanpur.
