90,875 voters will decide the fate of six candidates in the Kedarnath Assembly (Vis) by-election in Uttarakhand from 8 am on Wednesday. All 173 polling parties have reached their destinations for the by-election. 90875 voters will exercise their franchise in Vis. Among the voters, 44919 are men and 45956 are women. Women voters have the power to win or defeat any candidate.

The main contest will be between BJP and Congress
There are 1,827 young voters in Wisconsin, most of whom will be exercising their franchise for the first time. Sakhi booth has been made in Government Girls Inter College Agastyamuni. Besides, a separate disabled booth has also been made. This by-election is being held after the death of Kedarnath Vis MLA Shailarani Rawat on July 9 this year. Asha Nautiyal from Bharatiya Janata Party, Manoj Rawat from Congress, Dr. Ashutosh Bhandari from Ukraine and independents RP Singh, Tribhuvan Chauhan and Pradeen Roshan Rudia are in the fray for the by-election. After the by-election campaign ended on Monday, on Tuesday all the candidates went door-to-door and contacted the voters and appealed to vote in their favor. The main contest in this by-election is between BJP and Congress. During the entire election campaign, both the parties had exerted their full strength.

166 polling parties left for by-election
During this period, Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami held election meetings in Agastyamuni, Chopta, Chandranagar and Guptkashi as a star campaigner. At the same time, Cabinet Ministers Saurabh Bahuguna, Ganesh Joshi, Rekha Arya, Subodh Uniyal, Prem Chandra Aggarwal and Satpal Maharaj did public relations at various places. Officials of BJP organization also remained active in the entire election campaign. At the same time, the reins of Congress elections were held by former CM Harish Rawat, former state president Ganesh Godiyal, state president Karan Mahara and other senior leaders. Here, on Tuesday, 166 polling parties were sent from Agastyamuni Sports Ground complex for Kedarnath Vis by-election, which reached their destinations by afternoon. Earlier on Monday, seven remote polling parties were sent. Along with 2949 service voters, there are also 793 disabled voters in the voting.

District Election Officer Dr. Saurabh Gaharwar said that all preparations have been completed for fair and peaceful voting. Here, Superintendent of Police Akshay Prahlad Conde said that keeping security in mind, Vis has been divided into two zones and 27 sectors. Tight security arrangements have been made at all the polling booths.
