Badrinath Dham’s doors closed for winter, Chardham Yatra concludes

Shri Badrinath Dham (His). The doors of the world famous Shri Badrinath Dham were closed for winter on Sunday at 9.07 pm with the proclamation of Jai Badri Vishal as per the rituals amidst the devotional tunes of the army band. With this, the Chardham Yatra has now stopped till winter. On Sunday, more than 10 thousand devotees had darshan of Lord Badri Vishal and witnessed the closing of the doors. Snowy mountains and cold winds also witnessed this.

On the occasion of closing of the doors, Badrinath Pushp Seva Samiti Rishikesh had decorated the temple with flowers, which was giving an attractive look. Folk dance and jagar etc. were presented by local folk artists, Mahila Mangal Dal Bamani, Pandukeshwar. A glimpse of folk culture was visible in it. On this occasion, donors and the army had organized a bhandara for the devotees and the devotees lined up and tasted the prasad. The atmosphere was different from the hustle and bustle of the pilgrims.

BKTC President expressed his gratitude, gave best wishes to the devotees

Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee (BKTC) President Ajendra Ajay congratulated all the devotees on the occasion of the conclusion of the Chardham Yatra and expressed gratitude to all the departments and institutions associated with the Badrinath Dham Yatra. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami, this time a record 48 lakh pilgrims have reached Chardham Yatra. District Magistrate of Chamoli district Sandeep Tiwari had darshan of Lord Badrivishal on the occasion of conclusion of Badrinath Dham Yatra. He said that with the coordination of the administration and the temple committee, the Badrinath Dham Yatra has been completed efficiently and a record number of pilgrims have arrived. He told that the work of master plan in Badrinath Dham is going on at a fast pace. This will provide more facilities to the pilgrims.

This year more than 1.25 lakh devotees visited Lord Badri Vishal

BKTC Chief Executive Officer Vijay Prasad Thapliyal said that this year the Badrinath Dham Yatra has been successfully completed. This year more than 1.25 lakh pilgrims have visited Lord Badri Vishal. The temple committee made simple and easy darshan arrangements for the pilgrims.

The valve closing process was completed in one hour and 37 minutes.

The process of closing the doors started at 7.30 pm. Rawal Amarnath Namboodiri, Dharmadhikari Radhakrishna Thapliyal, Vedpathi Ravindra Bhatt, Amit Bandoliya completed the process of closing the doors. Uddhav ji and Kuber ji came out of the sanctum sanctorum of Badrinath temple. After this, Rawal Amarnath Namboodiri assumed the form of a woman and placed Goddess Lakshmi in the sanctum sanctorum of the temple. Thereafter, at 8.15 pm, Lord Badri Vishal was considered as Lord Badri Vishal and covered with the ghee blanket prepared by the weaving Mahila Mangal Dal. After that, at 9.07 pm, Rawal Amarnath Namboodiri closed the doors of Badrinath Dham.

Panch Pujas started from 13th November

It is noteworthy that Panch Pujas started from 13th November. Under Panch Puja, Lord Ganesha was worshiped on the first day and in the evening the doors of Lord Ganesha were closed on the same day. On the second day, Thursday, 14 November, the doors of Adi Kedareshwar Temple and Shankaracharya Temple were closed. On the third day, Friday, 15th November, worship of Khadag book and recitation of Veda hymns stopped. On the fourth day, Saturday 16th November, Kadhai Bhog was offered to Goddess Lakshmi. The doors of Badrinath Dham were closed at 9:07 pm on Sunday, 17th November.

BKTC has given the responsibility of the upcoming journey to the right holders

After the date of closing of the doors was fixed, the Badrinath-Kedarnath Temple Committee had gifted turbans to the pilgrims for the upcoming pilgrimage to Badrinath Dham on Vijayadashami on 12th October and given them the responsibility of reserves for the year 2025.

The throne of Uddhav-Kuber and Adiguru Shankaracharya will depart for Pandukeshwar on 18th November.

BKTC media in-charge Dr. Harish Gaur said that after the doors of Lord Badri Vishal are closed on Sunday night, the Gaddi of Adiguru Shankaracharya along with Uddhav ji, Kuber ji and Rawal ji will depart for Yoga Badri Pandukeshwar at 10 am on Monday, 18th November. Uddhav ji and Kuber ji will visit Pandukeshwar in winter. After the stay at Pandukeshwar on 18th November, Adiguru Shankaracharya’s throne along with Rawal Dharmadhikari Vedpathi will leave for Shri Nrisingh Temple Joshimath on 19th November. After this, winter pujas will also start at Yoga Badri Pandukeshwar and Shri Nrisingh Temple Joshimath.
