A petition related to the management and control of ‘Wrestling Federation of India’ (WFI) has been filed in the court by Indian wrestler Bajrang Punia. Regarding this, former president of ‘WFI’ Brijbhushan Sharan Singh gave his reaction while talking to journalists.
Regarding the petition filed by Bajrang Punia, Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh said that this is the misfortune of wrestling and for two years these people have been continuously disrupting wrestling. When these people sat on strike, they were saying that they were protesting to save wrestling. Now it is being seen continuously that these people file some petition in the High Court and talk about stopping the game.
He further said that now the petition has been filed on behalf of Bajrang Punia, before that a petition was filed on behalf of Satyavrat. An attempt was made to stop the team which had participated in the World Championship and the boys had brought medals, by filing a petition through Satyavrat. But a way was found and the team went to the World Championship and many children brought medals.
Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh further said that now the National Game is to be held, which is a continuous process. Whatever children participate in the National, their certificate is also useful for their job. About 700 to 800 children participate in it, who are called national players. To stop this, a petition was filed on their behalf that the present committee, headed by Sanjay Singh, cannot conduct the National.
He further said that the international organization UWW does not accept government interference, it accepts the Federation. Only the Federation can conduct national trials. They went to the High Court regarding this. The court gave him a date next month and did not impose any ban. In such a situation, these people always tried to stop wrestling. While camps for boys and girls are not running for two years, they should make efforts for this. By doing such things they want to destroy wrestling in the entire country.
