BCCI announced the list of 574 players to be included in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction to be held on November 24 and 25 in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Of the short-listed players, 366 are Indian and 208 are foreign players, including 3 players from associate nations. The auction will include 318 Indian uncapped players and 12 uncapped foreign players.

A maximum of 204 slots remain to be filled in the rosters of the 10 franchises. There are 70 slots available for foreign players, while Rs 2 crore is the highest reserve price, with 81 players opting to be in the highest bracket. Interestingly, along with experienced stars, names of young players have also been included in the list for selection of teams.

Oldest player in IPL 2025 auction
England fast bowler James Anderson, who joined the IPL auction for the first time 10 years after playing his last T20 match earlier this year and retiring from international cricket, is the oldest player to feature in the IPL 2025 auction. His base price is Rs 1.25 crore.

Only three other cricketers above the age of 40 have made it to the list, with former Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Faf du Plessis, England’s Jamie Overton and Afghanistan all-rounder Mohammad Nabi making it to the list. Veteran IPL stars David Warner and Ravichandran Ashwin are next on the list, having entered the mega auction at the age of 38. Among these, the base price of Overton and Nabi is Rs 1.5 crore, while the base price of Du Plessis, Warner and Ashwin is Rs 2 crore.

Youngest player in IPL 2025 auction
On the other hand, 13-year-old talented player Vaibhav Suryavanshi from Bihar is the youngest player to be included in the IPL auction list in 16 years. Recently the youngster made headlines when he became the youngest batsman to score an international century, achieving the feat in a youth test for India Under-19 against Australia Under-19 in Chennai.

Mumbai’s sensational player Ayush Mhatre, who recently made his Ranji Trophy debut and scored 2 centuries, is the second youngest player to be included in the IPL 2025 auction at the age of 17. Tamil Nadu’s Andre Siddharth and South African fast bowler Kwena Mafaka are in the top 4, both aged 18 years. The base price of all these is Rs 30 lakh.
