Pithampur
To ensure that the employees and officers working in Pithampur industrial area do not have to commute from Indore and nearby cities, Madhya Pradesh Industrial Development Corporation (MPIDC) is working on a plan to prepare residential townships near the industries.
In fact, the intention of the Central Government is to develop residential facilities for the employees working in industrial areas in the same area so that they do not face any problem in reaching the workplace.
Township will be developed
Therefore, MPIDC has prepared proposals for two projects and sent them to the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs of the Central Government. In which a township will be developed in Pithampur on the lines of residential societies with modern facilities like Indore.
1362 flats will be constructed in 22 buildings to be built in two townships in Sector-1 and 6 of Pithampur. Facilities like garden, CCTV surveillance, parking, wide roads, play zone, lift, fire safety etc. will be available in the township complex. Townships will be developed under a pilot project in Pithampur. If the experiment is successful, it will be implemented in other industrial areas of the state also.
people update every day
More than one thousand industries are being operated in Pithampur. Lakhs of employees from other states including Madhya Pradesh work in these industries. Of these, more than one lakh people commute from Indore, Rau and Mhow. Every year the number of employees in this industrial area is increasing at the rate of seven percent.
MPIDC had conducted a survey on these points some time ago, in which it was found that 15 to 20 thousand houses are required in affordable budget for these employees in Pithampur. Here the prices of land in private colonies around Pithampur are skyrocketing.
Residential township planning
Workers are forced to live in unsanitary conditions in slums and illegal settlements. Therefore, MPIDC has planned residential townships in Sector-1 and 6 of Pithampur.
Recently, drafts of these two townships have been prepared and sent to the headquarters for approval. Probably work on these projects will start in the coming year. There will be many facilities like garden, CCTV surveillance, parking, play zone, lift, fire safety in both the townships.
