Police is continuously taking action against gambling and betting in the entire police station area. At night, information was received about gambling being conducted in a hotel in Khajuraho. A joint police team was formed from Naugaon and Khajuraho sections. Under the leadership of a Gazetted Police Officer, the police team in disguise duly visited the Saransh Hotel in Khajuraho, gambling was going on in the hotel hall, all the gamblers were surrounded by the police force and caught. Rs 20 lakh in cash and decks of cards were recovered from the gamblers who were playing by betting on winning or losing.
Besides, two used vehicles Toyota Innova, Hyundai Alcazar, Venue and 13 mobile phones of companies like Apple, Samsung OnePlus etc. were recovered from the accused. 20 lakh rupees in cash, four luxury vehicles, 13 mobile phones and total property worth more than one crore rupees were confiscated and gambling was done on 18th June by Farooq Khan alias Veeru Pathan, father Jamaluddin of Chhatarpur district of Uttar Pradesh including Kanpur, Auraiya, Hamirpur, Mahoba. Harshvardhan Gupta, father Mahesh resident of Srinagar district Mahoba, Basant Kumar Lodhi father Mayadin resident Charkhari district Mahoba have been taken into custody and crime has been registered under the Gambling Act in Khajuraho police station and due action is being taken. The investigation proceedings are ongoing.
In the said proceedings, under the leadership and guidance of SDOP Naugaon Shri Chanchalesh Markam, station incharge Harpalpur Inspector Pushpak Sharma, station incharge Khajuraho sub inspector Atul Dixit, assistant sub inspector Pradeep, head constable Rakesh constable Kamal Singh Sengar, Dhirendra Rajawat, Suraj Yadav, Shailesh Singh, Pushpendra Rajawat, Anil, Randhaur Yadav, Sandeep, Sonu Yadav, Jairam, Saurabh Tiwari and the police team formed from sections Naugaon and Khajuraho played the main role.
