New Delhi
Fast bowler Mohammed Shami played for Bengal team against Madhya Pradesh in the Ranji Trophy match at Holkar Cricket Stadium in Indore. After a gap of 360 days, Mohammed Shami returned to play a professional match. This was his comeback match. However, he looked a bit lackluster on the first day of the comeback match, as he did not get any wicket after bowling 10 overs. However, on the second day, the same old edge was visible in his bowling and he blew away the opposing team.

Mohammed Shami bowled 19 overs against MP, of which 4 overs were maidens. Shami spent a total of 54 runs and took 4 wickets. He gave runs at a run rate of 2.80. Even though Mohammed Shami bowled powerfully in Indore, its threat was heard by Team India sitting 7,415 km away (Perth) and the team management might have got relief from this. Mohammed Shami is not a part of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, but he can be included in the team depending on his form and fitness for the Ranji Trophy. He can become a good partner for Jasprit Bumrah again in Australia.

Let us tell you that Mohammed Shami played the last match for Team India on 19 November 2023, which was the final of the ODI World Cup 2023. After that match he was seen away from cricket. He had leg surgery and it took him a long time to recover. He could have returned a little earlier, but his knee became inflamed during rehab. In such a situation, some extra time was spent in his recovery and now finally he has come on the field and has staked his claim to go to Australia by taking 4 wickets in the first innings of his very first match. India has to play its first match against Australia from 22nd November in Perth.
