Cyber thugs digitally arrested a businessman and cheated him of Rs 1 lakh by saying that his son-in-law was involved in a rape case. Before he could deposit any more money, they came to his house. Now the police is busy searching for the accused.

An elderly businessman resident of Snehnagar under Juni Indore police station has lodged a complaint in the cyber cell of the crime branch. At around 11 am on Tuesday morning, a call was received on the businessman’s mobile from an unknown number. The accused, who was making a video call wearing a police uniform, told the name of his son-in-law and said that he has been arrested on rape charges.

The businessman called his son-in-law from another number but could not talk because he was in the bank. Due to this, the words of the accused were believed. Digitally arrested the businessman and demanded Rs 2 lakh. He immediately transferred one lakh rupees to the account given by the accused.
Meanwhile, his acquaintance came home, seeing him the businessman went to another room and became suspicious. Even at that time, the accused businessman was being interrogated. As soon as the acquaintance inquired, the accused disconnected the phone.
The accused made a call as soon as the account was frozen
The acquaintance told that he had been cheated. He lodged a complaint against the businessman in the cyber help line and the bank. The account was frozen by the bank but the fraudster had withdrawn Rs 75 thousand. When the businessman came to the police control room, the thug called again and asked why he had complained about him. On withdrawal of complaint the entire amount will be returned.
Actually the accused wanted to withdraw Rs 25 thousand from the freeze account. The account in which the accused deposited the money turned out to be from Muzaffarnagar. The photo of a customs officer was on the DP.
Scientist cheated Rs 50,000 by threatening to arrest his son
Transporters resident of Lasudia police station area also became victims of cyber crime. The transporter’s son is a scientist in Bangalore. The accused told the transporter that your son has been arrested along with the rape accused. The accused started extorting Rs 8 lakh and recovered Rs 50 thousand.
According to the complainant, the accused had described themselves as CBG officers. Called and said that the son did not rape but was caught with the accused. The accused heard crying and said that the policemen were beating their son.
