Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be on a visit to three countries from 16-21 November. During this time he will also go to Brazil to participate in the G-20 summit. The Foreign Ministry said on Tuesday that Modi is likely to meet many leaders during the G-20 summit.
The Prime Minister will visit Rio de Janeiro on 18-19 November to attend the G-20 Summit hosted by Brazilian President Luiz InĂ¡cio Lula da Silva.
The Ministry of External Affairs said India is part of the G-20 troika along with Brazil and South Africa and is actively contributing to the discussions at the G-20 summit.
During the summit, the Prime Minister will present India’s position on various issues of global importance and discuss the outcomes of the ‘G-20 New Delhi Leaders’ Declaration’ and ‘Voices of the Global South Summit’ hosted by India over the last two years.
Prime Minister Modi will visit Nigeria on November 16-17 at the invitation of Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister to Nigeria in 17 years.
During this two-day visit, he will also address a meeting of the Indian community. India and Nigeria have been strategic partners since 2007, with growing economic, energy and defense cooperation. About 200 Indian companies have invested more than $27 billion in Nigeria.
Similarly, Prime Minister Modi will be on a state visit to Guyana from 19 to 21 November. This will be the first visit of an Indian Prime Minister here since 1968. This visit is taking place on the invitation of President Mohammad Irfan Ali. Modi will hold bilateral discussions with Ali on this visit. Apart from this he will meet senior leaders of Guyana and will also address the Parliament and a gathering of NRIs.
While in Guyana, Modi will also attend the second CARICOM-India Summit in Georgetown and hold meetings with leaders of CARICOM member states to enhance India’s ties with the region. Let us tell you that in 2023, Guyana’s President Ali came to India as the chief guest at the Pravasi Bharatiya Divas in Madhya Pradesh and was honored with the Pravasi Bharatiya Samman. The big thing is that about 40 percent of the population in Guyana is Indians. Both India and Guyana were part of the British Empire during the colonial period.
The statement said that during the visit, the Prime Minister will review the strategic partnership between India and Nigeria and discuss opportunities to enhance bilateral relations. Modi will pay a state visit to Guyana from November 19-21 at the invitation of Guyana President Mohammed Irfan Ali. This visit to Guyana will be the first visit by the Prime Minister of India since 1968.
