Procurement of paddy at support price will start a day later on November 14. But preparation for paddy procurement is not visible in the centres. Till now, cleanliness and other arrangements have not been completed in the centres. Grass has grown in many centers and they have also not been cleaned.

Even though the administration is claiming to be preparing to procure paddy. But no preparation is visible anywhere at the field level. However, to sell paddy through the Token Tuhar Haath app, farmers in four committees, Hardi, Salkhan, Bhiloni and Bhainsatra, have purchased the token. Paddy procurement at support price will start in the district from November 15.
According to the check list for the facilities of farmers in paddy procurement centres, including shade, water, seating arrangement, availability of computer, printer, UPS, generator, internet connection, humidity meter, electronic weighing machine for weighing, gunny bags etc. in the procurement centres. Other prescribed facilities are lacking.

The work of registration of farmers was going on for one and a half months. Due to the Partition Agreement, the number of farmers selling paddy at support price has also increased in the district. One lakh 26 thousand 918 farmers have registered to sell paddy in the district this year. At the same time, due to increase in the support price of paddy by the state government, the number of farmers in the district is increasing every year.

125 purchase centers in 129 capacity in Janjgir Champa
Now the number of procurement centers in Janjgir-Champa district has increased to 129 and in Sakti district the number of procurement centers has increased to 125. There are 101 cooperative societies in Janjgir-Champa district and 95 cooperative societies in Sakti district. However, this time also a proposal was sent to open new procurement centers in which the government has given approval to open two new centers in both the districts.

After which the new farmers will have to first register themselves in the Token Tuhar Haath app before selling paddy at the support price. At the time of registration in the app, the farmer will have to enter the farmer registration number, mobile number and information related to his land issued by the committee in the app. After entering the mobile number, registration will have to be done through OTP. After registration, you will be able to fill the online form to deduct the token sitting at home or from any place.

35 thousand bales of gunny required
This time, one crore 40 lakh gunny bags will be required to purchase paddy. There will be 60 lakh new and 60 lakh old gunny bags of Millers and PDS. According to Markfed, 35 thousand 200 bales of gunny will be required. In return, 17 thousand new gunny bags have arrived. The remaining gunny bags are awaited. Apart from this, work of verification of gunny bags received from millers and PDS is being done.

Early variety paddy has been harvested
Farmers reach the procurement centers with their produce only after 15th November and then the formal procurement of paddy begins. At present the paddy which gets ripe in a short period of time has been harvested. At the same time, harvesting of late maturing crops has not started yet.

Only after November 15 will the paddy be properly ripe and then harvesting can begin. In such a situation, the entire month of November will remain deserted in terms of paddy procurement and this process will be started properly only in December.

Training given for paddy procurement
To make complete arrangements for purchasing paddy at support price in the Kharif marketing year 2023-24, training for computerized system was organized in the auditorium of the District Panchayat on Saturday under the chairmanship of Additional Collector SP Vaidya. Information regarding paddy procurement, online module, biometrics, farmer registration, PDS gunny collection and other important topics were given by the respective master trainers of all the committee managers and data entry operators of the district.
Officers of the concerned department and computer operator related to the paddy procurement centre, procurement in-charge and procurement center nodal officer were present in the training.
