Chief Minister School Jatan Yojana: Inspection of school buildings found serious flaws in the construction work in 78 school buildings.

Under the Chief Minister School Jatan Yojana, construction of government school buildings, construction of additional rooms and repairing work has been completed only on paper. During physical verification, the team formed found the work in 78 schools to be incomplete or of low quality, whereas the contractor had declared the work complete in his report. The Collector has given instructions to take action against the contractors if irregularities are found. The amount will be recovered from the contractors who claim that the work is complete on paper and withdraw the amount and they will be blacklisted.

Chief Minister School Jatan Yojana
Under the Chief Minister School Jatan Yojana, it was ensured that the construction of school buildings, construction of additional rooms for children to sit and repair work were done properly so that children do not face any kind of inconvenience while studying. Many school buildings were constructed and additional rooms were built for some. The same ceiling was repaired after complaints of falling plaster and water leakage. Verification revealed that the contractors had only supplied the food. In collusion with the officials, the amount was withdrawn by showing the incomplete work as complete.

Instructions for action against contractors
After finding irregularities in the investigation report, the Collector has ordered action to the Commissioner Municipal Corporation, Executive Engineer of RES and the concerned CMO. Along with blacklisting the guilty construction agencies and contractors, the amount withdrawn in the name of construction work will also be recovered.

Investigation into most irregularities in Masturi block
During the repair investigation of school buildings led by the team, it was revealed that there are 48 schools in Masturi block where payment was received after declaring the work as complete. Whereas 14 schools in Takhatpur block, 11 in Kota block and nine in Bilha block were found where the problem was still there, but the work was declared complete on paper.

Flaws found in these schools

Case 1- In Government District Primary School, Bamhani Khurd Bilha Block, repairing and construction work of the roof and verandah of the school was done for Rs 3 lakh 84 thousand. When the investigation team verified, it was found that the construction work lacked quality and the plaster of the verandah ceiling had fallen.
Case 2- The building of Turkadih Primary School (EDU) of Takhatpur was constructed at a cost of Rs 11 lakh 30 thousand. Upon investigation on the spot, the team found a seepage problem in the roof.
Case 3- Transformation and addition work was done in Kota Government Secondary School building at Ranibachali at a cost of Rs 4 lakh 62 thousand. Lack of quality was found in the investigation.
Case 4- The contract for construction of additional room in Primary School, Sabariadera (Sone) of Masturi Block was awarded for Rs. 8 lakh 32 thousand, but the floor work was incomplete.
