High Court administration should submit status report regarding orders, fees and fake books

Jabalpur

Half a dozen private school managements approached the Jabalpur High Court in the matter of arbitrary fee collection by the administration and not taking strict action in investigating the inclusion of fake books in the curriculum. During the hearing of the petition, the status report was presented by the government before the double bench of High Court Justice Sanjeev Sachdeva and Justice Vinay Saraf. The double bench did not find the report satisfactory and directed to submit a new status report.

In the appeal filed on behalf of petitioner Royal Senior Secondary School, Little Kingdom, Small Wonders, Nachiketa Higher Secondary School, Stem Field International and other private school managements, it has been said that investigation into arbitrary fee increase and inclusion of fake books in the curriculum should be done in Jabalpur district. It is being done by the administration. In the past, cases were registered against many school managements and the authorities were arrested. The school management is ready to cooperate in the investigation, but they fear that the administration may take strict action against them during the Diwali vacation.

During the preliminary hearing of the petition, the double bench had ordered not to take any strict action against the accused school operators and staff. The double bench has directed the petitioner school management to cooperate fully in the investigation of the District Committee and submit the required documents. The double bench had also sought answers from the district administration regarding the action. Not finding the administration’s report satisfactory, the double bench issued the above orders. The next hearing on the petition will be on November 13. Advocate Anshuman Singh appeared on behalf of the petitioner.
