There is a big opportunity for those who want to travel from Maharashtra to South India. IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, has announced a special package for this. Passengers can avail the facility of rail travel as well as food and accommodation till payment of lump sum amount.

Winter season is a good opportunity to visit South India. The weather is bad in North India during this period. This is the reason why a large number of people move to South India.

Keeping this in mind, IRCTC, a subsidiary of Indian Railways, has announced a special package. Through this package, people can travel to Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, Madurai and Tirupati at very low cost.

IRCTC Tour Package: All You Need to Know

  • This tour will start from Maharashtra. The journey will be conducted through Bharat Gaurav Special Tourist Train. The duration of the tour is 7 nights and 8 days. The journey under the package will commence on 21 November 2024.
  • IRCTC has named this special tour as ‘Sri Rameshwaram-Tirupati Dakshin Darshan Yatra’, under which travel will be done to Kanyakumari, Rameshwaram, Madurai, Tirupati as well as nearby places.
  • Passengers who are a part of the tour package will have the facility to start and end their journey from stations across Maharashtra like CSMT (Mumbai), Thane, Kalyan, Karjat, Lonavala, Pune, Daund, Kurduvadi, Solapur and Kalaburagi.

IRCTC Tour Price : Per Person

IRCTC has kept three categories for this tour package. The first is the sweeper class, which is named economy. Here the expenditure per person will be Rs 14,880.

Whereas, the second category is of third AC which is named Comfort (3AC). Under this, a member will have to pay Rs 26,630 to travel.

The third category is Second AC, for which a fee of Rs 33,880 has been fixed. This category has been named Comfort (2AC).

This amount will have to be paid in lump sum. This includes travel expenses as well as food, drinks and accommodation.

Let us tell you, Indian Railways is providing about 33% discount to promote rail tourism under Bharat Gaurav Train Scheme. Concession is included in the above price.

  • Kanyakumari: Vivekananda Rock Memorial, Gandhi Mandapam, Kanyakumari Temple
  • Rameshwaram: Sri Ramnath Swamy Temple and Dhanushkodi
  • Madurai: Meenakshi Temple
  • Tirupati: Lord Venkateswara Swamy Temple and Goddess Padmavati Temple

IRCTC has requested all passengers to carry with them Voter ID card/Aadhaar card and COVID-19 last dose certificate.

The travel schedule has also been released, although it may change depending on the circumstances. The operation of Bharat Gaurav Tourist Train is dependent on minimum number of passengers booking.
