Raipur.
After the Corona virus lockdown, cases of cyber fraud have started increasing in Chhattisgarh. Recently, in three different cases in the capital, cyber thugs defrauded people of crores of rupees in the name of share trading. After these cases came to light, Cyber Police Station Range Raipur took major action on the instructions of Raipur Range Police Inspector General Amresh Mishra.

Fraud of Rs 400 crore busted in 4 months, 28 arrested
It is noteworthy that Raipur Range Cyber Police has exposed major cyber scams during the last 4 months. You can guess this from the fact that till now in 37 cases the police has succeeded in busting fraud worth more than Rs 400 crore and arresting 28 accused. More than 7900 cases are registered against these thugs in 30 states and union territories of the country.,
Take special care of these things to avoid cyber fraud –
A) To avoid becoming a victim of fraud through fake share trading applications, do not fall prey to excessive profits.
B) There is no provision like digital arrest in the law, no government agency makes such threats on phone, does not interrogate on video call nor demands money. If you feel scared then understand that something is wrong. Don’t fall prey to cyber criminals.
C) Cyber criminals are luring people to earn money through social media in the name of writing reviews on Google, due to which many people have become victims of cyber fraud, beware of this.
D) Similarly, frauds are taking place on the pretext of work from home, through which cyber fraudsters get the work done at home by luring you like packing pencils or converting PDF file into Word, etc. and then, by pointing out mistakes in the work done, they ask for penalty. Money is demanded for every matter and if the money is not paid, a false case paper is prepared and a fake warrant is sent to the court. Due to which people get scared and get ready to give money to the accused. Don’t get trapped in any greed and don’t panic. No one will ever give you an opportunity to earn money sitting at home.
Police appeal to the public
Raipur Police has urged citizens to immediately go to their nearest police station and lodge an FIR if they become a victim of any kind of cyber crime. In this regard, the Inspector General of Police, Raipur Range has instructed all the Superintendents of Police and station in-charges that on receiving information about any cyber crime, FIR should be registered immediately. After crime registration, the case will be sent to Range Cyber Police Station for further investigation, where necessary support and guidance will be provided for cyber crime solution. If for some reason the FIR is not registered in the police station, citizens can contact the Office of the Inspector General of Police, Range Raipur.
