SDM sent son to jail who came to inform about his father’s illness, now he will have to pay a fine of Rs 25 thousand


Jotram, a resident of Jorapara of Takhatpur, had built a house by occupying the government plot. This complaint was made in Kota SDM office. After investigating the matter, finding the complaint to be true, Kota SDM issued a notice to Jotram and directed him to remove the encroachment from the government land.

The then SDM of Kota, Ashutosh Awasthi, had issued a notice to Jotram and summoned him for building a house by occupying government land. On the day of his appearance, his health deteriorated. The son reached the SDM court and informed about his father’s illness and his inability to attend the hearing. Angered SDM sent the son to jail. Expressing displeasure over this action of the SDM, the lower court had imposed a fine of Rs 25,000 and ordered the amount to be paid as compensation to the victim. Challenging the decision of the lower court, the SDM had filed a High Court petition through his advocate. After hearing the case, the High Court rejected the petition of the then SDM and upheld the decision of the lower court.

He sent his son Sadhram to the SDM court and informed him about his ill health and asked him to note down the date of appearance. Sadhram informed the SDM about his father’s ill health. On hearing this, the SDM got furious and sent Sadharam to jail for 15 days.

After his release from jail, Sadharam presented the case in the lower court challenging the action of the SDM. After hearing the case, the court expressed displeasure over the action of Kota SDM and imposed a fine of Rs 25,000. The amount of the fine was ordered to be given as compensation to the victim Sadharam. The then SDM of Kota, Ashutosh Awasthi, had filed a petition in the High Court through his advocate, challenging the decision of the lower court. After hearing the case, the High Court has upheld the decision of the lower court and rejected the petition. Instructions have also been given to give the fine amount to the victim Sadharam.

Wife commits suicide, harassing husband arrested

A woman living in village Panda of Sakri area committed suicide after getting fed up of her husband’s harassment. Based on the statement of the relative, the police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the woman’s husband and arrested him.

Rashmi Kaushik alias Rani, resident of Rajendra Nagar of Civil Line area, was married to Shrutish alias Pappu Kaushik (42), resident of village Panda. Pappu used to harass his wife after marriage. The family members advised Pappu many times in this regard. Even after this there was no change in his behaviour. On October 21, Rashmi poured kerosene oil on herself and set herself on fire. The people of the locality admitted the burnt woman to a private hospital. There was a huge dispute in the hospital between Rashmi’s parents and Pappu’s relatives. Rashmi died during treatment the next day. On the complaint of the parents, the police investigated the matter. After the statement of the parents of her parents and the people of the locality of village Panda, the police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against the husband and arrested him.
