Jashpur Police has arrested two accused, exposing the scam of financing a vehicle with the help of stolen documents and then selling it to someone else. Police have seized 10 bullets and 1 scooter from the accused. The matter is of Kotba Chowki area of the district.
Outpost in-charge Rakesh Singh said that Kotba resident Ashish Sharma (26) had told in the complaint made on June 12 that he had received an envelope through courier. This envelope contained the registration documents of the new Bullet bike purchased in his name. Whereas he and his relatives have neither purchased any such bike nor have given their documents to anyone else for purchasing the bike. The applicant expressed apprehension that the bike was wrongly financed in his name by stealing his necessary documents. In this case, Kotba police registered the crime of cheating under section 420,34 against unknown accused and started investigation.
During the investigation of the case, the police came to know that Shahrukh Khan, resident of Khorma of Pratappur police station area of Surguja district, is the master mind of this entire fraud. During custodial interrogation, accused Shahrukh Khan told the police that he along with Wasim Akram, resident of Rasulpur, Ambikapur, prepares fake documents and gets the vehicle financed through them and sells it to someone else.
This fraudulent business was going on for a long time. On the behest of Shahrukh Khan, Jashpur police team has seized 10 bullets and 1 scooter from different places in Surguja. Police claim that all these vehicles have been purchased and financed with fake documents. In the case, the police have arrested both the accused Shahrukh Khan and Wasim Akram and sent them to jail in judicial custody.
