The Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Medical and Victoria District Hospital in Jabalpur, Madhya Pradesh is full. Generally the number of patients decreases before festivals. There has been a decrease in OPD of both the hospitals on Wednesday. Some patients have been discharged from the ward. Nevertheless, the number of admitted patients is relatively higher compared to previous years. Many serious patients suffering from seasonal diseases are admitted.

Those injured in fire accidents while bursting firecrackers on Diwali reach the hospital. To provide immediate relief to these patients, beds for burn cases have been reserved in Victoria District Hospital.

Preparation of additional bed expansion for burn case

So that the patient can be provided quick and better treatment facilities. Here, the medical hospital has instructed the CMO to remain alert. Preparations have been made to expand with additional beds for burn cases if needed.

A large number of patients sought leave from hospitals on Wednesday to go home for the festival. Wards have become vacant in Manmohan Nagar Community Health Centre, Ranjhi Civil Hospital and other small hospitals.

Many patients were seeking leave in Victoria Hospital, among whom those who were in a state of recovery were given discharge. At the same time, serious patients are admitted in many wards of the medical hospital. On Wednesday, the number of patients in Medical and OPD of Victoria decreased, which was almost half of the average.

40 bed temporary burn ward in Victoria Hospital

A temporary burn ward of 40 beds has been created by merging two wards of the hospital. A ward of the ophthalmology department has also been reserved for burn cases.
