On the day of Dhanteras, the market of Indore was vibrant, people made huge purchases here. There was a crowd of people in the markets from morning till night. There was heavy shopping in bullion market, utensils market, electronic showrooms and clothing shops also.
People came to Indore to worship in the temple with new vehicles.
Indore, the economic city of Madhya Pradesh, shines as Kuberpur on Tuesday. There was heavy rain in the markets on Dhanteras, the biggest day of shopping before Diwali. Celebrating the festival with joy and wishing for prosperity, people made a lot of purchases. Queues were seen in the showrooms of vehicles with gold and silver.
There was a crowd of buyers from electronic showrooms to the utensils market also. Shops ranging from readymade garments to gift boxes of dry fruits were buzzing with customers from sunrise to moonlight. The total sales figure on Dhanteras in all these segments is being estimated at around Rs 750 crore.
Business worth more than Rs 1000 crore in a single day
If real estate is also included in this, Indore appears to be becoming a city doing business worth more than Rs 1,000 crore in a single day. In terms of sales, the automobile sector i.e. the vehicle market remained at the forefront.
According to Aditya Kasliwal, Vice President of Automobile Dealers Association, about 2800 cars and 6500 two-wheelers were delivered on Dhanteras. If estimated on the basis of average prices, a total of Rs 425 crore has been spent on the purchase of vehicles in Indore.
200 crore turnover in jewelery market
With this, a turnover of Rs 200 crore is estimated in the gold, silver and jewelery market. According to Avinash Shastri, Minister of Silver-Gold Gems Traders Association, the prices are increasing but people are getting returns in the same proportion.
In such a situation, people came up with a budget. There was also an influx of money in the property market. According to the registration office, 950 immovable properties were registered throughout the day. Even if the average property value in Indore is estimated at Rs 35 lakh, the sale of property crossed Rs 332 crore.
Malwa-Nimar markets remain buzzing
The festival of lights got off to a bright start in the region. On the first day of the festival, on Dhanteras, the market was bustling with activity and the temples of Goddess Mahalakshmi were crowded. When shopping took place in the market, the faces of the traders also lit up. The shopping environment that started in the morning remained the same till evening. The shopping spree continued till night in the markets decorated with arches and garlands.
Mobile, electronics, automobile and bullion markets were the most vibrant. The maximum business of more than Rs 140 crore has been done in Ujjain of the region. Here, 700 four-wheelers and more than two thousand two-wheelers were sold in a single day. On the other hand, business worth about Rs 70 crore was done in Ratlam. In other districts too, business has been good compared to last year.
