In Shri Mahalakshmi Temple located in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh, the Goddess and the temple are adorned with the jewelery given by the devotees. For this the temple is closed a few days before Diwali. On Dhanteras, the doors open at Brahma Muhurta and the darshan of devotees begins. The decoration of Shri Mahalaxmi Temple located at Manak Chowk in Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh was completed with the cash, jewelery etc. given by the devotees for the Deepotsav. On Dhanteras, the doors of the temple were opened at Brahma Muhurta at around 4:30 am on Tuesday.

Devotees will be able to have darshan continuously till Bhai Dooj. Before this, the makeup work continued till late Monday night. The special thing is that after four years, the distribution of Samriddhi Potli (Kuber Potli) from the temple also started from 6 in the morning.

Mother is adorned with jewelery given by devotees

Every year, devotees donate their own material for makeup in Mahalakshmi temple, which is returned after Bhai Dooj. A large number of devotees come from all over the country to see the special adornment made with notes, jewellery, diamonds, pearls, gems etc. Due to this, special security arrangements are also made in the temple. The sanctum sanctorum in the temple premises is specially decorated.

How are bundles of prosperity made?

In the temple, Samriddhi Potlis were welcomed by saints and learned Brahmins by reciting Ganesh Atharvashirsha, Shri Sukta and chanting mantras. Swami Devswaroop Maharaj (Akhand Gyan Ashram) Swami Sujanji Maharaj, Neelbhartiji Maharaj, Maharishi Sanjay Shivshankar Dave, Swami Rajendraji Purohit, Pt. Chetan Sharma, Pt. Jitendra Nagar, Pt. Prakash Sharma, Pt. Jeevan Pathak, Pt. Shailendra Ojha, Pt. Batuk students of Gurukul including Sanjay Mishra, Pt. Ashok, Pt. Omprakash Sharma, Pt. Vashishtha, Pt. Narayan Vyas were present.

Temple Committee, Traders Committee and Shrimali Brahmin Samajjan took care of other arrangements including adornment. Kuldeep Trivedi, Secretary of Shrimali Brahmin Samaj, said that Aarti will be held on Tuesday at 6.45 after the doors open in Brahma Muhurta. Collector Rajesh Batham will participate in the aarti. After this, Samriddhi Potli will be distributed from 6 o’clock.

It is believed that keeping the prosperity bundle (Kuber Potli) received from the temple in the safe ensures happiness and prosperity in business, home and family throughout the year. Devotees also give makeup items in the same spirit. The bundle contains a shell, kodi, one rupee coin, kamal gatta, small conch, akshat which are in an envelope tied with flax.

CM will not come

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav was scheduled to visit Ratlam on the day of Dhanteras. Due to this, Collector Rajesh Batham and SP Amit Kumar remained busy in preparations throughout the day on Monday. After getting information about cancellation of CM’s visit in the afternoon, the order of decoration in the temple was also changed.
