He was allegedly forced to resign from his job by a mob of Muslim fundamentalists. Troubled by death threats, Rontu Das left his job as an assistant professor. He had mentioned discrimination in his resignation letter. This letter of his went quite viral.

Hindu police personnel dismissed

This discrimination against Hindu minorities in Bangladesh is not limited to educational institutions only. People associated with the police system are also becoming victims of this. 252 police sub-inspectors trained from Sharda Police Academy were dismissed on charges of indiscipline. Of these, 91 were Hindu workers.
