Superintendent of Police, Anuppur, Mr. Moti Ur Rahman, detected the criminals engaged in smuggling and illegal trade of codeine cough syrup which is suitable for intoxicating in the district and the Kotwali police took action, in which Maruti car no. 271 bottles of ONREX cough syrup worth Rs 108400 containing illegal drug codeine being brought from MP65ZA7445 to Anuppur were seized and accused Avinash Victor resident of ward no. 09 Anuppur and Ankit Dwivedi residents of Bard no. 13 Old Basti Anuppur have been arrested and sent to jail and the absconding accused Kamal Rathore alias Inspector, resident of Barri and Ravi Shankar Pandey, resident of Anuppur are being searched by the police team.

On Thursday night, the team of police station in-charge Kotwali inspector Arvind Jain, sub-inspector Praveen Kumar Sahu, assistant sub-inspector Surendra Pratap Singh, head constable 29 Sheikh Rasid and female constable Usha Singh raided the house of absconding accused Komal alias Inspector Rathore in village Barri. The investigation was conducted and the absconding accused’s father Shyamlal Rathore, father Shuddh Rathore, aged about 58 years, resident of village Barri, was found present on the spot. Banned Nitrazepam tablets worth Rs 18,000 were seized from the possession of village Barri. Crime no. 465/24 Section 8 B/ 21 /22 NDPS Act and 5/13 M.P. After registering the Drug Control Act, Shyamlal Rathore, father Shuddh Rathore, aged about 58 years, has been arrested.
