Punjab government spokesperson told PTI on Wednesday that Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz directed the officials concerned to immediately start the process of issuing festival cards to ‘our Hindu and Sikh brothers’. He said that the Punjab government has approved the issuance of ‘festival cards’ for 2,200 Sikh and Hindu families. From this year onwards, these 2,200 families will be given this amount every year under the festival card.

Saifullah Khokhar, additional secretary, Evacuee Trust Property Board (ETPB), said that a visa automation system has been launched to facilitate the issuance of visas to foreign pilgrims, of which more than 3,000 are from India and 1,000 are Sikhs coming from other countries. Pilgrims are involved.

All these devotees are likely to come here next month to celebrate the 555th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak Dev. He said that apart from providing all other necessary facilities, special transport arrangements are being made for the Sikh pilgrims.
