The process of recruitment of about 7500 police constables is going on in Madhya Pradesh, in which physical efficiency test is being taken. Recruitment advertisement is expected to be released in January-February. Law and order will be improved by removing the shortage of police force through regular recruitment.
Former Chief Minister of the state Shivraj Singh Chauhan had talked about recruiting 5000 police constables every year during his tenure five years ago, but after that only 6000 constables could be recruited once. Now the emphasis of Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav (he also holds the Home Department) is on regular recruitment of police constables.
Recruitment proposal to Staff Selection Board
Presently the recruitment process of about 7500 police constables is going on, in which physical efficiency test is being taken. Their selection list is expected to be released this year itself. After this, the Police Headquarters has started preparations for more recruitment for approximately the same number of posts. This year, the proposal for recruitment will be sent to the Staff Selection Board, so that the Board can issue advertisement for recruitment before March next year.
In the recruitment to be held next year also, there will be a physical efficiency test after the written examination. 50 percent marks will be for written examination and the same amount will be for physical efficiency test. It will take about one and a half years to complete the recruitment process. That means, if advertisement is released in 2025, constables will be appointed only till 2026.
shortage of constables
According to the criteria, there should be one police station for every 50 thousand people. In such a situation, there is a need of 1700 district police stations in the state, but currently there are only 968. Due to lack of police force the number of police stations is not increasing. Similarly, the plan to create a cyber police station in every district is also not taking shape due to less strength. This work can be done by regular recruitment of constables. Also the law and order situation will improve.
