Prime Minister Narendra Modi virtually inaugurated the newly constructed airport of Rewa. Rewa is the sixth airport of Madhya Pradesh. Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav described the inauguration of the terminal building of Rewa Airport as a Diwali gift by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said that this will boost the development of Vindhya region. At a function in Varanasi, his Lok Sabha constituency in UP, Prime Minister Modi on Sunday inaugurated and laid the foundation stone of projects costing more than Rs 6,000 crore.
During the program, he digitally inaugurated the terminal buildings of Rewa in Madhya Pradesh and Darima in Chhattisgarh and Maa Mahamaya Airport in Sarsawa in UP. Their total cost is more than Rs 220 crore. Addressing a function in Rewa, Chief Minister Yadav said that Prime Minister Modi has given a huge Diwali gift to the people of Vindhya region even before the festival.
CM Mohan Yadav said that the state government will provide air travel facility to Vindhya residents from this airport (to Bhopal) for Rs 999 for a month. Airstrips will be built in every district of the state. The airstrips of Ujjain, Shivpuri and Datia will be developed and made airports. He also flagged off the Rewa-Bhopal flight. The inauguration of the airport will open doors for development and bring change in the Vindhya region comprising 7 districts including Rewa.
CM Mohan Yadav said that there is natural wealth in this area. Every necessary resource is available for its development. Due to the efforts of Prime Minister Modi and Udaan (Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik) scheme, the poor are also getting the facility of air travel. Due to lack of attention by previous governments, the development of Rewa lagged behind. In 1993, there was no railway facility in Rewa and now there is an airport here. Expressway will also be built from Rewa to Bhopal.
