Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar was born in Khan Yunis, Gaza in 1962. He was associated with the movement for independent Palestine since childhood. Because of his violent attitude towards Israeli citizens, he was called the Butcher of Khan Yunis. He was killed in Israeli military action.

Became the top leader of Hamas by 2016
Hamas fighters capture a soldier during fighting with Israel. After that, by making a deal with Israel, Yahma Sinwar and 999 other prisoners were also freed in exchange for one soldier. It is said that when he reached Gaza for the first time after his release in 2011, he was given a grand welcome. From here his hold on Hamas became stronger. He was made the head of the military wing of Hamas. In 2016, he was one of the top leaders of Hamas.
Long and complex tunnels laid in Gaza
Sinwar laid a network of long and complex tunnels for Hamas in Gaza, using which the terrorists used to escape from Israeli attacks. He himself was hiding in these tunnels with his family for the last one year. Even the Israeli army was not able to kill him.
