The road will be made four lane between Ujjain and Maksi. Before Simhastha, work is being done to widen the roads connecting Ujjain to other cities. A four-lane road will be built for Indore via Chintaman Ganesh Temple. With this, the main road between Indore and Ujjain will be made six lane.

Ujjain-Maksi two-lane road will be converted into a four-lane road at a cost of Rs 704 crore. A bridge will be built on one side parallel to the railway over bridge on the Indore rail section in front of ITI in Ujjain urban area. After getting administrative approval for road construction five months ago, the work of DPR and feasibility survey is on the verge of completion.

At present, toll tax is being operated on the route by women self-help groups under the user fee scheme. It is known that the Government of Madhya Pradesh is converting all the access roads of the city into four-lane roads to create an industrial eco-system in Ujjain.

These four lanes are also proposed

Agar Road, Dewas Road have been constructed. Construction of Garoth, Badnagar-Badnavar road is in progress. Work on converting Indore road into six lane has also been started last month. In the next phase, it is proposed to construct 36 km long Maxi Road, 44 km long Unhail-Nagda-Javra Road, 49 km long New Indore Road four lane (from Chintaman Ganesh to Indore Airport).

Preparation to build 14 bridges also

Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation has made a plan to get all this work done, which is part of the action plan of Simhastha-2028. It has been said that if transportation and traffic facilities are available in Ujjain, then Ujjain will develop rapidly. Big groups will also invest in setting up industries here. Therefore, along with widening various routes, preparations are also being made to build 14 new bridges.

The process of selecting the contractor firm for the construction of three bridges is under process. This bridge is proposed to be built in Freeganj area between Chamunda Mata Mandir intersection to Freeganj, on Teen Batti intersection to Mullapura road and on Shipra river near Lalpul. The target has been set to complete all the construction work before the Mahakumbh Simhastha to be held in 2028.

Soil testing work started for Indore Road Sixlane

Idore Road six lane construction is to be constructed at a cost of Rs 735 crore, before starting which, Ravi Infrabuild of Udaipur, a contractor firm contracted with Madhya Pradesh Road Development Corporation (MPRDC), has started conducting soil testing. This work was done in Indore area last month and is now being done in Ujjain.

Two major bridges, two flyovers and six underpasses are to be built in the 46.475 km long route. Soil testing i.e. geotechnical survey work is being done to find out how much digging will have to be done at the foundation level to build bridges and flyovers, which design and how much loading capacity beam work will have to be erected. The team started the ground survey here to build a new bridge in front of the bridge built on Shipra river near Triveni Shani Temple.
