Well wow Taj! Taj Mahal is the tag line of a tea advertisement, but here you can say Wow Taj for Hotel Taj. The thing itself is such that you will be compelled to say it. This is the story of two hotel chains in India. The booking in both was for two days, but for staying for only one day, one charged for two days and Taj charged only for one day.
In fact, the culture of Tata Group’s Hotel Taj has won the heart of D Prashant Nair. Ex-HD HR of Thomas Cook, Cipla has praised Hotel Taj wholeheartedly in a post on social media platform X. He wrote in his post, “The story of two hotel chains. One is Taj. The other is a large Indian hotel chain (let’s call it H).”
He further wrote, “Context: I was staying at Taj and my colleague was staying at H during my trip to Chennai. Given the unpredictable weather, we decided to cut short our trip and return tomorrow (evening of the 15th) instead of the 16th. We took this decision on the afternoon of the 15th.”
Describing the incident he wrote, “What happened: H took money from my colleague for both the days. I was surprised that Taj took money from me only for one day. Front office executives said they understood the reason for the change. That’s why Taj is Taj. Respect Tata culture.”

One user has written that love Taj. The wife was single and living in Taj, London. He had a hairline fracture in his leg. The staff took very good care.
Someone came at 2 in the night with support bandages etc. Never get this service at the Ritz/Waldroff. If you want real hospitality then go to Asia/Africa. When it comes to American/Western European hospitality, there is only lip service.
Another user wrote that it is good for Taj to do this, but keep in mind that if they start giving people free money when the itinerary is changed then they will not be able to stay in business.

Hotel Taj in Mumbai has 565 rooms including 46 suites. It also once served as a 600-bed hospital during World War I. As you step into the hotel, which overlooks the Arabian Sea, you will be greeted by vaulted alabaster ceilings, onyx columns, graceful arches, hand-woven silk carpets, crystal chandeliers, an eclectic collection of furniture and a dramatic cantilever staircase.
